Soot Control for Diesel Engines - Diesel
Particulate Filtertrap©
| ICE (UK) offer technology proven products, the EX-80 corning particulate filter is used worldwide to control diesel particulate from diesel engines. The filters are sized according to the engine capacity and classification, for example Euro 1 or 2 Engine. The filter element is used in many diesel engine applications from forklift trucks, mining and stationary or continuous engine applications. | ||

The EX80 ceramic composition from Corning provides improved thermal resistance during filter regeneration. The composition provides a high average particulate trapping efficiency of approximate 90%. |

| The wall flow filter consists of a series of channels with the adjacent inlet cells blocked and the alternative cell blocked at the outlet end. The diesel soot flows into the channel (red arrows), the blocked end stops soot being emitted. The porosity of the ceramic material allows the exhaust gas through trapping the diesel particulate. |

DPF
© - Oxidation Catalyst Coating- 320 °C Incineration of Soot
| The diesel soot is trapped and stored in the channel, at certain conditions which vary depending upon the soot profile, soot will automatically incinerate (burn), the temperatures normally required for this is approximately 520°C. The ICE (UK) DPF © has been coated with an oxidation material that lowers this incineration temperature down to 320°C, thus allowing for continuous trapping and incineration for most engine applications. | ||
